Let’s be honest. Most people don't book a sugaring or waxing appointment because they're thinking, I could really use some quality conversation with a stranger today.

"If there’s one review you read on this establishment I hope it’s this one, Nancy is by far the best at what she does from my experiences getting waxed, sadly I’m moving on from Grande Prairie and headed home but I can truly say she has the best technique, the most comfortable environment and amazing personality over all, her sweet bubbly chats get you through the discomfort and her quick technique makes sure it’s over fast and done flawlessly. Kiara had some pretty high praise for Kenzie after years of getting waxed and sugared:
"If you are wanting a quick, comfortable, and extremely wonderful esthetician go to Kenzie. She is super sweet and very accommodating, she definitely goes above and beyond every time I go and see her and after all of my years getting waxed / sugared she is by FAR the best I have ever had. 10/10 wonderful person and esthetician :)"
Quick, comfortable, accommodating and a 10/10 wonderful person? We’ll happily accept all of the above. Because while getting the job done is important, we want you to feel comfortable with the person doing it, too.
“I haven't picked up a razor since!”
If you've spent years believing that sugaring or waxing is going to be painful, Kalila would like to have a word with you.
She shared:
"As someone who was influenced to believe that hair removal with sugar or wax is EXTREMELY PAINFUL, I'm here to tell you that that is not the case at all! Granted we all have our own pain tolerance and super some areas can get a little spicy but overall it's not as bad as you would think, especially sugaring! I started going to see my girl Bailey back in July and I haven't picked up a razor since! My hair is coming in thinner and in smaller amounts which means I can wear fun outfits even in the winter! The team is great, the appointments don't take super long and I'm always laughing throughout the appointment. My only recommendation is make sure to book your next appointment as soon as you pay or else you might have to wait an extra week and then that's when things get spicy! "
We particularly appreciate the warning at the end. Apparently, the real danger isn't the sugaring, it's waiting too long to book your next appointment. Noted.

Sydney has been coming to The Sugar Stop for years to see Bailey, and her review says a lot about the experience we're trying to create:

I have been going to the Sugar Stop for years now to see Bailey. She always does such an amazing job. She’s personable, friendly, bubbly and always makes you feel comfortable and at home. The other staff are equally as friendly! I am always greeted with a smile by anyone who is up front when I walk in for my appointment if Bailey is busy. The environment is always clean and tidy as well! Highly, HIGHLY recommend the Sugar Stop!! "
The actual hair removal is obviously important, but so is everything around it. Being greeted with a smile, feeling comfortable, knowing the space is clean and welcoming, and seeing familiar faces all matter. Those little things add up.
“I feel like I’ve known her forever”

"I love Megan so much, I feel like I’ve known her forever which is crazy because I’ve only seen her twice? She is the perfect example of someone that makes you feel calm and comfortable. Megan is also very gentle and knows when my body needs a break before I even have to tell her. My Brazilians are always great. Plus she makes me laugh and I always leave feeling great about myself after each appointment! 6 stars for Megan!! "
Six stars. We’re going to assume Google just isn’t ready for that kind of rating system. But the part we love most is “calm and comfortable,” because that’s exactly what we want your experience at The Sugar Stop to feel like.
